Carnival in Mallorca 2019
Every year Mallorca celebrates carnival and the beginning of Lent with street festivals and parades. Most towns and villages organise their own costume parades during the carnival weekend, with the biggest parties taking place in Palma.
Traditionally, there is only street carnival in Mallorca. The island celebrates carnival with street parties, live music, food and drink and colourful costume parades: Sa Rueta - the children's event - and Sa Rua - the adult parade.
In Palma this year the Sa Rueta takes place on Sunday, 03 March 2019, in the morning from 10:30 to 13:30 o'clock. Sa Rua, the main event, takes place on Sunday, 03 March 2019, from 17:00. The best costumes will be honoured with prizes. Both parades will go down Jaume III, Plaça del Rey Joan Carles I, C/ Unión, C/ Riera and La Rambla.
Also, the typical German carnival can of course be celebrated on Mallorca. For this, you should visit the typical German tourist areas such as El Arenal or Paguera. Here, where parties are celebrated throughout the whole year, there is of course also a lot going on at carnival.
