Renovation of the Club de Mar Mallorca
Admirers of Mallorca know that the Balearic island offers a variety of charming settlements in small or large harbours where yachts and boats can moor. The forty or so marinas on the island of Mallorca, sometimes referred to as marinas, are proof of the seriousness with which Mallorcans and visitors alike take sailing and motor boating.
Among these is the prestigious Club de Mar Mallorca, located in Palma de Mallorca. Founded in 1972, this club offers more than 600 moorings and a wide range of high quality services for yachts and luxury boats. Currently, Club de Mar Mallorca is undergoing a refurbishment process that aims to modernise its facilities, boost environmental efficiency and further improve the user experience, seeking to establish itself as one of the most innovative clubs in the entire Mediterranean Sea. For example, all the old buildings will be replaced and a new dock for large yachts will be built, which will create 70 moorings for boats between 50 and 170 metres in length.
The extension work will be ready by the last quarter of 2024, with the refurbishment costing 60 million euros. Likewise, the transformation of the Club de Mar, together with the renovation of Palma's Paseo Marítimo, will offer a unique experience, as it will significantly improve the city's maritime façade. Although part of the facilities will be exclusively for members, other areas will be open to the public, promoting greater enjoyment of the surroundings.
It should also be noted that since its origins the club has promoted water sports such as sailing and canoeing. In fact, its athletes compete in all kinds of events and its Summer Campus allows more than 1,600 children to have their first contact with the sea. They are not only taught a sport, but also how to care for and respect the marine environment.
Sustainability is a priority for the club, which is implementing measures such as the installation of solar panels, ecological air conditioning and an efficient irrigation system. Technological innovation is also key, with a Direct Digital Control system that will optimise the management of the facilities.
The club's exclusivity is thus based on the quality of its services, modern facilities and experienced staff who attend to the needs of its members and clients. In addition, the club has a significant connection with the real estate sector, attracting visitors who often consider purchasing property on the island.
