The village of Ses Salines is one of the oldest and most beautiful on the south-east coast of Mallorca. The village's lively bars and restaurants dominate its appearance. It is a typical Mallorcan village that takes its name from the salt mines dating back to Roman times. Salt is still extracted there today. The Talayots, the remains of a prehistoric settlement, are also fascinating. The natural beach of Es Trenc and the many small bays such as Cala Llombards are just a few minutes' drive away.
